Applied Biosystems Expands Sequencing-based RNA Analysis Solutions Portfolio
27 August 2008
Applied Biosystems announced the development of a sequencing-based molecular tool for the genomic analysis of whole transcriptomes, the vast collection of RNAs transcribed from a genome. This technology provides detailed characterization of expressed protein-encoding genes, identifies many non-coding RNAs, and includes sample multiplexing capability.

NEAT is an innovative genomic testing platform for the development of simple and affordable diagnostic tests. Software module access is available to DxTerity Diagnostic customers and partners.

Identification of miRNAs associated with gene regulation in Multiple Myeloma
26 August 2008
The role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in multiple myeloma (MM) has yet to be fully elucidated. To identify miRNAs that are potentially deregulated in MM, we investigated those mapping within transcription units, based on evidence that intronic miRNAs are frequently coexpressed with their
host genes. Host transcript expression values were monitored in a panel of 20 human MM cell lines (HMCLs) and focused on transcripts whose expression varied significantly across the dataset.
